Back Family
Businesses Campaign

Family businesses are the beating heart of the economy. From local companies to our biggest brands, family-owned businesses are in every corner of the UK.

Help us to back family businesses.

Business Property Relief (BPR) &
Gift Holdover Relief (GHR)

A supportive policy environment is crucial if family businesses are to compete and thrive. These two reliefs underpin the family business model incentivising families to innovate, invest in the business, and in skills and jobs. Removing these policies would result in family businesses potentially having to withhold investment, divest parts of their business or – in a worst-case scenario – close shop entirely. and potentially catastrophic for small, first-generation companies.

We need to back family businesses by asking government to commit to retaining the policies. You can help by raising the issue with your networks and lobbying your local MP. Here you will find some useful information to help.
