Family Businesses: Unlocking the Generational Value of Sustainability
Co-hosted by the DIFC Family Wealth Centre and the Family Business Council Gulf. This event will take place on the morning of 5 December 2024 in Dubai, UAE followed by a luncheon.
Our roundtable theme is signifying that family businesses are more than just economic powerhouses—they are stewards of legacy and custodians of future generations. With the 500 largest family businesses generating over US$8 trillion in revenue and employing nearly 25 million people globally, their role in shaping a sustainable future is paramount. According to an EY report (2021), more than 75% of the world’s largest family enterprises now measure and report on their sustainability progress.
We are inviting families who are deeply engaged in sustainability mandates and ventures across a wide range of areas. Our participants include those spearheading cleantech investments through family venture capital, as well as those setting the standards for sustainability reporting in the GCC. What unites them is a shared mission to take sustainability seriously—as a business or a cause.
Our roundtable aims to bring together family principals, next-generation leaders, and their senior executives from around the world who have embarked on sustainability-driven mandates. We will explore the following key topics:
- Sustainability Agenda: Understanding current priorities and resource allocation.
- Measuring Impact & Communication: Evaluating how impact is measured and communicated, and the motivations behind transparency.
- Leadership & Succession: Discussing the roles of leadership and the next generation in driving sustainability.
- Challenges & Opportunities: Identifying the greatest challenges and opportunities in implementation.
- Areas of Collaboration: Exploring avenues for joint action and shared goals.
This roundtable is complimentary and includes full access to the Future Sustainability Forum, taking place on 4-5 December 2024 in Dubai, UAE. .
Please note that this event will be conducted under Chatham House Rules to ensure open and confidential dialogue.
Please RSVP by 31st October to confirm your participation.
