Family Business Visit: Trumpington Estate
Since Sir Francis Pemberton bought the 1,000 acre estate in 1675, the Pemberton family have been in the driving seat at Trumpington Estate. The Estate has gone through many changes over the years, however the family remain constant custodians with the main aim to enhance the landscape while securing it for future generations. Enterprises now include agriculture, residential, commercial, renewables (solar + wind), conservation and they are involved in development of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The tour will showcase their day to day, as well as explore some of their archives of history on and around the estate.
You will hear about their experience as a family business with a focus on:
- stewardship throughout the community
- diversifying the business
- issues facing Trumpington Estate: Structure of the business and succession planning
Bring your wellington boots as we explore this diverse family business and beautiful landscape.
