About
New in 2023, the FBUK Masterclass series aims to convene thought leaders, subject matter experts, practitioners and advisors together with family businesses.
Succession is a complex and multi-stakeholder process, in which every individual needs to find / understand their role and place, and how they can participate, contribute and add value. This masterclass will provide practical tools and advice to support you and your family business in the process of succession.
Hear how Betty’s and Taylors, and the Wates Group used purpose, values and leadership to approach succession as we kickstart the day with an interactive panel discussion. Followed by a hands-on workshop to help you explore the possibilities and think more creatively and inclusively about both the journey ahead. Participants will then be led through best-practice examples and tools to create shareholder agreements, share ownership rules, trusts, estates and tax planning to optimise your succession process. Ending the day with a real family business case-study, drawing on the experiences of the Laithwaites family business to understand a working model for successful succession.
